Default 2005 4.0L turbo???

Hi everyone I've recently been looking for more power at first I thought supercharger but then decided against it. Then recently I've been wanting to sell my car and get a 240 and build it with the extra money from my car. Then tonight came across http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/ and saw they have forged internals for the 4.0 so then I got a bit excited. I have always wanted a turbo and was wondering would turboing my car be a good idea? what all would I need to make a reliable setup? About how much power could I make? About how much would all this cost?

Supporting mods that I know of
forged internals
uprgaded cooling system
upgrade rearend
upgrade transmission

So ultimately should I try and build up my car or Sell it and just build up a 240?

Wow I apologize for all the rambling but I got excited and wanted to get some opinions

Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for any help

Here's some links

Eaton/Magnusson X-Charger
http://www.americanmuscle.com/xcharg...er-0509v6.html

Vortec Turbo
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/product.php?p=93

A turbo for the V6 will most likely be the best "bang for the buck" and there aren't many superchargers out there for the 05-10 v6'ers
I might be wrong, but i think the V6 (05-10) already has forged internals. Nothing like the link you posted, which was forged and cammed and most likely custom built, so guesstimate on that is going to be $2500+

You're prob looking about $5k with just a turbo setup, around $8-9k with a new forged/cammed setup and possibly a stronger tranny to back up all that power

9k is about what I had in my long block with forged internals and stage 3 heads and cams.

If I left it as a mid 11 second car, to me it was. Was a great daily driver, got 25mpg, and it drove smooth as butter on the street. When it was a low 11/high 10 second car - well thats more a passion than any thing else.

^^ Vortechs are NOT turbochargers. They are in fact centrifugal superchargers. Its a similar mechanism, but the blower is still powered by the serpentine belt and not the exhaust, which is the case with a turbo.

I would get a kit like this for starters

http://powerhouse411.com/catalog/ind...products_id=51

Then, if you still want more power, you can go forged and just swap the wastegate spring.

Yeah that does look like a really good kit, but could it be cheaper to make my own setup rather than purchasing a bundle like that?

I would go for a bundle. You pay a higher price but you get professional design of components, you know their all compatible, get a high degree of customer service, and the companies reputation is on the line if it doesnt work. Slapping things together yourself means you are completely on your own, and unless youre an engineer, that probably wont end well.
