Default Do 17's make a difference?

I am looking to go to 17" tires/rims from my stock 16's and wondering how it will perform.

1 - Will I need to make adjustments (XCT2) tune for the new size
2 - WIll there be ANY loss in performance speeds (0-60/quarter etc...) due to the larger tire size?

All help is appreciated......

I got the GT takeoff 17's and put them on my V6 stang. If you look at both tires height wise they are identical height. Its just the rim is 1" bigger on the 17 and the rubber is 1" smaller. So overall its the same height. So for this set up there is no adjustemtns needed. I'm not sure about aftermarket stuff but cant imagine that 1" would make that big of a difference.

I have 18's and I cant really tell a difference. Turns a lot better, and maybe a little bit rougher, but I love them. You wont need to make any changes due to the rims being 1 inch bigger. Def. no tune required.

I noticed a huge difference with 17" rims. I have the same Pirelli's as the GT... nice and sticky. The stock 16" tires spun so easily, especially if the road had any dampness to it (which was sorta fun, in a way...um... sometimes). I think a tire upgrade is one of the better investments on the V6. Even sticking with the stock rims (gotta love that classic look) and going with a wider tire would be a wise option.

The 17's make a world of difference. I have GT take offs and with a 2" drop my car handles like it's on rails. The only thing that is close to it is my 97 cobra, except you don't slide around in the seat during aggresive cornering like in my 1997 Cobra.
