It had a $1500 rebate. Is the rebate still around?

Yes it is, but that doesn't matter. When building a car on Ford's website everything is done strictly at MSRP.

There was a Difference in job 1 and job 2 pricing in 2010, might be the same now.

That's a crock if it's true. There's nothing that justifies a price increase like that.

Try building your car at Edmunds.com. It will show you the MSRP, invoice and true value of your car.

I did. Every website that you can build the car on shows the V-6 premium base at 26,200. Ford's website now shows it at 27,795. I still have my printout of the car I built on Ford's website about 3 weeks ago and that also shows a 26,200 base price. They raised it alright.

They raised it when I bought mine in June. The window sticker was still the old price, and when built online it was more.

I didn't like the looks of the 19" wheels, so I got the 2012 Premium. I put winter tires on the stock 17" rims and got a set of 18"x9" chrome spokes from AM. It handles very well with the 9" Nitto 555s, has a smoother ride than the Performance Package. I have the wheels that I really like, and I will save money on tires, 19" tires are very expensive.

1) Every review I have seen of the S197 V6 has been done with the performance package installed. Its something to consider if you are looking to buy a V6 Mustang based off of what you have read in reviews. I test drove the V6 without the PP before buying and thier is a big handling difference between the two.
2) You get alot for 2k. The Pirelli tires and the 19" wheels would cost more than 2k in the aftermarket. On top of that you are getting upgraded shocks, springs, front sway bar, rear sway bar, tower strut brace, and a more aggressive suspension tuning. In terms of appearence you get a different engine cover and side view mirrors.

The cons: While the PP is a great corner cutter its also a pretty stiff ride. Too stiff for some people. Also your cost of maintenance is higher. The Pirelli tires burn down quicker and cost alot to replace. Allthough their are other performance replacement tires (like Nitto) that cost alot less.

Not as stiff as my 2010 was, so far the only con I have found is the tires need a little heat in them when you first start out.
