Default New V6 Owner

Hello,

My name is Matthew and I am new to these forums. I just purchased a 2006 S197 V6 Manual.

I have hopes and ambitions including, but not limited to a cold-air intake, high flow cat and louvers. I've been looking at americanmuscle.com.

This is just a quick post to say hello and get to know the community.

Welcome to the forums! Congratulations on your new purchase! AmericanMuscle is a great place to shop, I do most of my business there.

welcome, now start modding. I started off with a 2005 v6 but mine was an auto. Got tired of the auto and traded it for a 2010 gt manual. Then about a month ago picked up a manual 2003 gt. Love both cars. Good luck with modding, its like a disease.

Welcome to the forum. Don't bother with a CAI unless you get one WITH a custom tune.

CAI w/o a tune = minimal (3-5 RWHP)
CAI w/custom tune = about 15-20 RWHP on the 4.0

Congrats on the Mustang and Welcome!
As Nuke stated above, look into geting the CAI/SCT tuner combo. 90% of the performance gain comes from the custom tune. Check American Muscles (AM) combo packages available for your year/model. I've also purchased a majority of my mods from American Muscle and have been very satisfied with their products and customer service.
Happy modding!

Nope, dont start modding until you have read every post
on the subject of the items you want to add.
Many a mod has been purchased and then when
a problem arises, one likes to then consult the forum.
Wrong order.
Consult first, buy second.
Take advantage of the Forum and learn from others mistakes...

Buy no CAI that does not require a tune.

Hi flo cats are a waste of $$.
The OEMs flow fine unless you have the
hardware to support needing them.

And some louvers are better than others....

Welcome to the forum.
Good luck with your mods. You'll learn a lot of stuff on here and meet many knowledgeable members... and some not so much. Be ready to spend stupid amounts of money on a car that runs just fine. Haha
