First of all, post your questions in the V6, 2.8, Turbo forum so that you can get more accurate answers, this is a V6 forum, but your 3.8 and these 4.0s are quite a bit different. Yes you will be faster, as in have more accelleration than a V8, but they will still have you on the top speed end of the spectrum, unless you remove your top speed limitator, and still its kind of iffy. No you won't get better gas milage. If you put your foot all the way to the floorboard, you will wind up getting terrible gas milage. Reason is because you will be pushing more air into your engine and you will have to have bigger fuel injectors so, more air plus more gas consuption equals bad gas milage. Now if you install a sc and you drive your car normally you will see about the same gas milage as you are already getting. Sc kits only kick in a certain preset rpm, so you won't burn the extra gas until you hit that point. Now these kits vary in price, but normally a full kit starts at around 1200K to 1500 on ebay so they will cost you. Remember to get a true hp gain and have a true advantage over any V8 you need to do way more that a sc kit, such as a cai w/K&N filter, 73mm MAF, 70mm throttle body, 42% size reuction uderdrive pulley kit, a true flow dual exhaust system, either 3.73:1 or 4.10:1 gears, a t-lock, and use a handheld tuner to retune your ecu. If you have any questions on any of these upgrades look around in our V6 forum because we have already answered most questions pertaining to these mods, you will have to look through the first two or three pages of questions, but all the answers are there.
