Default 06 S197 V6 Mount for License Plate Light

Hello All,

Hoping to find advise/assistance regarding the license plate illumination light on my 06 S197 V6.

I recently noticed that the license plate illumination bulb was hanging by the wires. Upon closer inspection, it looks like a small plastic plate that retains the bulb and mounts with (2) Philips head screws to the bumper above the license plate has broken.

I have looked at a few places online but have had no luck in locating a replacement. Short of checking junk yards, does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on a replacement?

I went to the dealer in 09 and pointed to the light I needed (got
rearended and the broken light was never replaced by the bodyshop)
and the parts manager ordered me one. They are not available aftermarket.
Let me bump over to eBay and see if I can search you up one...

Thanks for the assistance Gents, as of yet I have been unsuccessful in finding a fix, and the light is still hanging by the wires. At this point, I am considering making a plate from some plastic stock material we have out back in the shop at work.

It is a difficult part to look up because I don't even know what to call the thing, it took me a whole paragraph to describe it.
