Don-O I used to live in Ohio and there HAS to be a bone yard with some wrecked vert in it that you might be able to take the parts off of. Also, there are southern yards with online sites that you could maybe request the take offs. I would try there first!

I talked to Ford today. Part # is AR3Z-76102B54-B, but he said 102B54-B will get it.It's just called a brace, according to him, but he said it's connected to the floor pan in the diagram, and that makes it a `floor pan brace'.
Anywayyyyyyyyyy, I told him I just couldn't afford their price at 500 bucks apiece, and he was still nice in giving me the numbers.
I guess I'll take them off and have them custom made at a machine shop? don-ohio (:^)

Default Rear braces rusted

As I reported earlier, the rear braces on my '06 GT 'vert were badly rusted. After checking around and finding Ford wanted a totally ridiculous price for these, I bought a set of BMR boxed frame connectors (#SFC 011). I think they were like $270 shipped. Cost me $180 to have the rusty ones removed and the BMRs welded in.
Not a HUGE difference, but the car definitely feels tighter on the road. No downside that I can feel. I think these are the way to go.

I have this problem with my 07 Convertible. The P/N for 2005 to 8/2009 cars is AR3Z-76102B54-B as don-ohio noted. For 8/2009 to present the P/N is AR3Z-76102B54-A. FordPartsGiant.com lists the -A configuration for $208, and the -B configuration for $435. I'm tempted to order the -A part, but can't be sure it will work on an 07. The -B should be a revision to the -A part, which is also strange. The older cars use the -B, and according to Ford's numbering scheme it should be the other way around.

I ended up having my local welding shop make me replacement brackets then had them powdercoated so they would not rust out again. He used channel steel stock & made it to fit. It appears that the way they are made (square stock stamped) they rust from the inside out. Nowhere for moisture to escape from inside the part. Poor design for such a high dollar part. My 05 has no rust issues other than these two brackets.

If you have the photo saved to your pc, you can click on the yellow icon at the top "insert image"...then drag your photo. Too bad the Signature option isn't that easy.
