Default Trunk Ajar?

I have a 2012 5.0. The trunk is securely closed, but the trunk ajar light stays on. I removed the insulation from the trunk lid, disconnected the trunk latch, cleaned it off, but it still says it's ajar. Anyone have any experience with this?

I had that happen onlo my 2013. Put stuff in the trunk and when I closed it the wiring was knocked loose. Pull the cover aside on the lid and check the wiring there. I pushed it all back together and the connection was made once again and the light went out.

I did that, but it still says the trunk is ajar. It's annoying as hell.

It will probably also keep your remote start from working, if you have that feature.
