FRONT WHEEL SIZE LIMITATION

FRONT WHEEL SIZE LIMITATION
Hoping to fix a 18" by 10" aftermarket bullitt rim (anthracite) to a 2010 v6 Mustang. A few companies appear to offer the same rim with their own center cap. Has anyone done this and will a 245 50 18 tire rub? Thanks

The earlier GT500's (2007 & 2008 at least) ran 255/45-18's on 18x9.5 wheels from the factory. I've got 265/40 tires on those wheels with plenty of clearance. 10" wide wheels with about +42 mm offset ought to work with either of those sizes and probably a little wider as well (i.e. 275/40's).
Strictly speaking, 10" is still a half inch wider than most tire mfrs list their 255/45's for, but is within the wheel width range for either 265/40 or 275/40.
Even wider than 10" is possible if you're willing to accept compromises in things like the amount of lowering (not as much of it) and/or camber settings (more negative than stock).

I have 275/40 on 18x9.5 on all four corners. the front is fine except for 1 issue. if you turn the wheel full lock it will rub the fender liners. I actually pulled my fender liner completely out twice before I got used to it. Roush used to sell a steering stop kit for about $12 that fixes this. I'm not lowered so I don;t know what difference that makes
