Default driveshaft shaking!

Hi all!
Is anyone out there had or have the same trouble as my 2005 five speed V6? My driveline vibrates beginning at 72 MPH and resonates the whole car. The problem started when the car was a couple of weeks old. I took it to the dealer to have them say it was a driveshaft problem. When they put a new driveshaft on it vibrated badly from 50MPH on up, but was worst at 72MPH. The dealer then put on a coupler at the front of the rear axle but the problem is still there but not as bad. I want them to put on a new axle, but am wondering if anyone else had had this problem? I love the car other than this driveline problem!

Help please

did you get your tires balanced? That can cause the car to shake at those speeds.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. No the dealer and I have not checked the tires yet because the frequency of the shake is so hi. I suppose as the troubleshooting sessions continue that will need to be tried.

Well I have news about the shaking driveshaft and it is not good news.

A Ford engineer drove the car and said the problem was in the ring and pinion. The dealer ordered the parts and as always said the parts were due in in the express dext day delivery. Well 5 days later the parts arrived. Monday I took the car in and today,(Wednesday) the new parts were put in and the shake was still there! I wish they had just put in a whole new rear axle. I don't know what they will try next. The shaking has been so bad now the car is squeeking and rattling. I am really bummed out about how long it takes Ford to come up with parts.
To their credit the dealer has given me a rental car while the have my Stang even though I did not buy that service when I bought the car.

Well The latest from the Ford engineers is to perform a dynamic balance on the driveshaft. They said they need to dynamically balance the driveshafts on trucks but have not needed to do the proceedure on a Mustang yet. I have waited another 3 day for the latest version of the fix!

The same thing was happening to mine. It started after the dealer replaced the fuel tank. I took it back and they replaced (not balanced) the drive line. All is ok now.
