Default weekend purchase

Hello all -
Picked up a black 06 pony package stick shift Saturday. I can really see why everybody loves these cars so much. I had a 96 v6 5 speed and it was quick, but this one is FAST! i'm loving it. Getting about 1/2 the stated mpg, like many of you say. Its great though. I've always said the best way to get good gas mileage is to lie about it! wife sill thinks i'm getting 25 or so .
I'm surprised to hear of so many people wanting the GT front end. Yes, I love the lights, but think the pony package is much better looking, and not showing signs of engine envy.
One more thing and i'm out of here... what does everybody else have in the stable and what did you give up for the mustang. We've got an 06 honda shadow aero 750, 05 new beetle tdi, 96 F-250 work truck.
Cheers, and keep the rubber side down.

Welcome!!! Most responses you will get is you will love the car, but as I can see you already love it!!! I went with the GT take offs because the pony package wasn't available at the time, plus kinda dig the GT fogs a little more than the pony, but both look good. I had a 2000 Volvo S80 full loaded in the stable before my stang, gave it to my wife and she hated it. Now she drives a Nissan Xterra and I got the stang. Haven't had a stang since my 93 5.0 LX vert.

Welcome to the forums, you will enjoy it. We already have stang members hitting 11's and low 13's here.

Cheers!

Welcome stumsmith!! I'm feeling you. I should be getting my car this week or next according to the dealer. I'm also getting the V6 pony package. They didn't have the options or color that we wanted, so we had to order. I am trading in my 98 Durango. I've got a 2001 F 150 and a 1966 Nova that I take to the track on occasion (runs low 11's). I'm sure we will enjoy our car as much as you seem to be enjoying yours. Good luck.

Morning all -
Forgot to include my trade-in... I'm coming to the mustang from a 00 saab 9-5 wagon. Fast, not quick. burned oil when it ran, dripped when it didn't. I can't say how glad i am to have warranty again. the saab was starting to scare me!

Welcome stumsmith! I think the pony package looks nice, but I prefer the larger fog lights. I'm not trying to make my car look like a GT, I just like the lights. I traded in my 2002 Toyota RAV4 for my stang. It got great gas milage and was good for haulin' stuff around, but I needed a little more power and something I could afford.

Burdweiser - are those gold stripes? I've been considering this as my first change to the car. How much should I expect to spend for good striping?
cheers

GOLD??? Ha! I don't think that would look right on a Mustang, black with gold stripes!? They are grey stripes. I have matching interior. You can check out the pics on my site. I'm not sure how much you might pay for a good set of stripes, I had mine done at the dealership when I got the car.
