Default 2006 4.0 changes from 2005

Read this in another post:
ORIGINAL: TJ
Also for people with 2006 4.0 from what I read Ford made changes to the 2006 4.0 see below .
The 4.0-liter SOHC V-6 engine received significant improvements for the 2006 model year as well as new engine calibrations and a new camshaft.
Were there significant changes made between years? If there were, why are the HP/TQ ratings the same for both year models?

Thats what I read about 2 months ago and I think rygen read it too, won't know if any HP till someone dyno a 2006, also just because they used a new cam doesn't necssarily mean more HP but won't know for sure till a dyno vers 05. If there was a hp increase one would think Ford would be touting it From what I saved they weren't to specific on the
"significant improvements" other than say significant improvements along with a new cam.

I read something in regards to the 2006 explorer, but that is for an explorer, not a stang and the article I read was in regards to MPG enhancements. I will have to dig it up. So while I caught a bit of it around the net, I don't have anything concrete in regards to the 06 stang. But if anyone has a link directly on this, please post.

I know it's not the exact same, or the XCharger would just fit onto it... I know explorer express had to do some modifications to get it to fit...

Dave (X Charger) said there was alot more room in the Mustang engine compartment than the Explorer and went with the M90 charger (bigger) over the M60 in the Explorer. Thats probably the reason for the modifications to make the M90 work on a Mustang. Stupistodd I mean maybe some external things might be different to fit it to the car but internally I read and heard its the same 4.0 engine Explorer/Mustang

What have you read or know thats it not the same engine?

If anyone has a link to prove its not the same engine post

It is, also, I put this up on another board and one of the guys there called Kevin at KC Ford. I've bought parts from Kevin before and he is reliable. He looked up the camshaft and said it was the same part number for the 05, 06 and 07. So there you have it.

But like they said at the other board, its good to post this stuff just for speculation and investigation.

Later.

I went searching for that info couldn't find the excact one but this one is very close on the engine changes I read http://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/200..._explorer.html everyone I talked to including ford techs at dealers, Dave ( Ford tech) alsa Damage INC from Ford Modular message boards titled holycrap super charge your V6 now , (hey rygen I think you read this too) and what I read on the net Ford did not build a new engine for the Mustang but rather used the Colonge 4.0 Explorer/Ranger engine in the Mustang period.

So I am like 99% convinced this is the engine.

According to this link http://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/200..._explorer.html and this is the second time I read this they put a new cam in.
