Default some questions about the AFE

so i have bought an AFE intake, but i have not put it on my car yet because my dad told me that he does not want any performance mods on my car. many of my friends have intakes on their car, but they make sucking noises. so i was wondering if the AFE intake makes any noises that can be heard, because if not, then i am going to go ahead and put it on.

thanks

My guess is it will be louder than stock... will probably be getting the sucking sound... Tell Dad it's not a performance mod, it's a fuel economy enhancement and you're doing your part to conserve gas... LOL

Yea most likly it will. My MMR intake does it. Makes it sound like turbo lol. It will only do it when you take off like a bat out of hell. If you gradually take off normal you wont hear it till like 3000 to 3500 rpm. Nothing your dad would hear inside or outside the car. You can only hear it on the driver side though. Unless he was racing aside you. I have a clutch and when ever I release the clutch and stomp the gas I hear it suck in the air really quick.

Whats your dad so worried about an intake for? Just show him the part in the warrenty manual about were it says that intake & exhaust won't void the warrenty. Whos car is it? Who makes the payments on it?

you wont notice, the stock one makes a noticable noise just as do aftermarket... you'll just go faster

It's not like you're puting a supercharger on that thing, the intake alone isn't going to give you 100 HP.
