Mini Cooper S vs. V-6 Stang
I saw all the talk about the WRX V Stang, and thought I'd see how everyone would bench race these 2 vehicles.
2 Races...
1/4 mile Drag
Track race, lets say at Leguna Seca or some other track you may be familiar with.
For the record... I own both. I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S. I have a 2005 Mustang V-6 Vert.
I'll add in more details about my particular cars after some discussion.

Pretty much dead even. http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
well i know that the mustang is pretty underated on the testing, because i have beat a couple cars that were rated higher than ours when i was stock, so i think you will get this
mini coop type s
that must be a really fun car! i always wanted to get one because i thought it might be like a go cart or something when driving....but yeah...i decided to get a beast of a car instead

My mini is putting down 195 hp and 170 tq. to the wheels...
My mustang has Lidio's tune from alternative auto...
Pretty much dead even in the 1/4... The mini would ROCK the mustangs world on the track... you just can't beat the handling.

I would have to agree here... the stock V6 is pretty weak in the handling department in my opinion... Was pretty apparent on the test drive... but for me with this particular car it wasn't that important.. I knew this car was going to be a straight line car... otherwise I would have kept the Boxster... which was frigg'n glued to the road like no other car I've ever owned... LOL!
I think both of you guys are right about the handling of the V6 vs. the Mini S. I've driven both and the Mini corners exceptionally well. However, I'm not so sure about the GT vs. the Mini S, and here I am referring to the suspension and brakes only, not the GTs additional HP. If the V6 was upgraded with the GTs suspension and brakes, it might be much closer.
I was looking at the site that had the 0-60 times on it and it said that our 2005 6ers are only .6 of a second slower than the 2004 GTs in the 0-60 time. I know that is still a lot when ur racing but that seems pretty close between a V6 and a V8. I know our V6s are peppy but wow.

A loss for the v6, but a stylish one. For the price u gotta compare the sixer to the normal mini. Then the mini would just get eaten up like a chew toy. The sixer has sum cheap suspension components under there, my car got torn up at a 15mph crash.
