JBA, MAC, or BORLA?
Im looking to replace the muffler in my stang (not dual). Ive heard JBA, MAC, and BORLA and they seem to be the most talked about. Which one will give me the most powerful sound with the least "RICYNESS"? I dont mind loud as long as it is a powerful sound and not just loud. Im leaning toward the MAC because I think the 4" tip would look awesome but what would u guys recommend?

I dig my JBA's. If I had stuck with a single, I would have gone with the Borla.
I had a MAC axle-back in my hands... just couldn't deal with the 4" near-coffee can size pipe... sold it on ebay.

i know on all the sites they have sound clips, but it is kind of hard to judge off just the clips, generally it is considered
JBA is the quietest
Flowmaster is the loudest

Looks like it has a 4 inch tip? I also hear the JBA's sound nice, and don't have any popping. Excepcion13 has one and swears by it. I actually heard it real life when I met him at the shop it sounds tough, without trying to sound like a V8. Hamidlmt's setup sounds like a tough muslce car, cause he also has the JBA headers. That is a nice set up Hamidlmt!

I'm running Borlas on my car and love them. So does Borla... You can tell by the price that they are very proud of their mufflers. By the way, my Borlas are straight through design as opposed to, say Flowmaster, which seems to be very popular these days also...
I recommend a fourth option - a GT take-off muffler.
I got mine through Casco parts in Michigan. It was dirt cheap (like $55 with shipping), and simple to install. No jacking required - I hung the rear-end over the street curb (I parked another car in the street for safety). Sound is subjective; with a convertible I didn't want it too loud. I will say that I rarely use the key to start the car. Standing outside the car, I use the remote starter just so I can hear it fire up (something I didn't do with the stock muffler).

I just put on JBA's "H" pipe dual set-up last week, and was awed when we fired it up. Sounds awesome, and when you accelerate hard it sounds even better. I am 150% pleased with the low throaty sound improvement. Sorry I don't have a sound clip. I'll have to have my kids teach me how.
Thanks Rygen! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
I've been debating whether or not to add an h pipe (I have the y-pipe setup). Talked to my performance shop and he didn't find anything wrong with the y pipe on a 6. Any gain would be so small. One day I may still do it, just for the slightly deeper tone.
He did say, never go straight true duals... always want some sort of cross-over, either an x or h... he didn't care which, just need something there.
