Depends on what you want to do with it. If you plan on adding a lot of power to your car, as in a power adder, and launching really hard, think about getting a TrueTrac. That's what I have. It was a lot more money, but I know it won't break. Also, the T-Lok needs to be rebuilt every so often. I think I read somewhere every 30K miles? You'd come out cheaper in the long run with the TrueTrac. I got mine for $350 but I think they have gone up in price. I like the 3.73s also. IMO, they are the perfect balance between street and strip.

Oh, i got my TT from here: http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...duct-5407.html As you can see, the price has gone up. It's worth it. I got my 3.73 motives from Brenspeed on Ebay for $137.
now that thats in my head, im kind fo scared to go with a Tlok, maybe some other stang' out their cna clear this up, but as of right now im going no wear near a T-lok is that stands the SLIGHTEST bit true, a rebuild every 30k is bull****!

A T-Lok will last more than 30K miles before rebuild... that was a silly rumor someone started... I had over 60,000 miles on my t-lok in my 02 GT (although an 8.5) and no signs it was wearing out... and since T-locks are available in explorers, rangers, etc., do you really think Ford would use them if they had to replace them before the standard warranty was up? Also, as far as I know I'm putting more torque through my T-lock than most... I abuse mine on a regular basis... it is holding up just fine... The only one I know who's broke there T-lock and that's powerhouse running on slicks... with over 400 ft/lbs of torque!

I agree with Scrming ..... still drive my 01 3.8L V6 with the original 7.5 rear end as a commuter ..... just passsed 138,000 miles on the odometer and had the rear axle fluid changed and the internals inspected; the T-Loc and 3.73 ring and pinion gears (which I bought on eBay) were installed at 13,000 miles and show no sign of going away anytime soon. Maybe I'm just lucky.
