RE: exaust!? GRRRRRR
Hello everybody. I am kind of new to the mod thing. I just bought my legend green 2005 vert in November and I want to change the muffler for the same reason as everybody want to do it. I read a lot about the GT takeoff. Maybe I am stupid but what the heck is a GT takeoff muffler!!!!
Thank you

Thank you for the speedy answer. Does anybody bought a single GT muffler (passenger) and had instaled by a dealer. Would he do it. What's the price?
I am not mechanicaly incline. By the way, I read somewhere in the forums that «Mustang oeners are young, well I am 50 and this my second Mustang, and the first that I reakky kike. The first one was a 78, a poor 4 cylinder think, whitout even a radio (that was my first car).

Find a local exhaust shop, ask around about price. I recently asked around about getting dual GT takeoffs on my '02, average price was $250. less half is $125... So I'd aim for around that price. Also, make sure you get a good audio clip of your car before you take it in and make sure you get your parts back from them when you pick up the car to make sure they did replace your muffler. Just tell them you want to hand the parts off to a buddy/brother/cousin or whatever.

Please don't have a shop put on a passenger side GT takeoff muffler for you. It would literally take you 30 minutes, all you need is a 13mm socket wrench. If you own a Mustang and want to mod it, you really owe it to yourself to learn how to do things like this yourself.
There are three brackets holding the muffler to the frame and one clamp holding the muffler to the tailpipe. Unbolt all of this, yank the old muffler out, reuse the two angle shaped brackets, bolt the GT muffler back in. Clamp back to exhaust pipe. Easiest mod you can do to this car. But... if you like the sound, and you will, you will end up needing to get that drivers side installed too!
