I have read that VMP is tuning (of some sorts) the non-ICd whiple on the 05-09 GTs to get it close to 400rwhp...I searched the site and found nothing...Please advise...

Heres a link man:

You'll need to relocate the IAT sensor to after the blower (I can send you some links on this if you want, its pretty easy). Justin from VMP told me to expect 375-400 rwhp on my 2010 auto running a non-IC Whipple kit... hth

Those are pretty good #s and are what I'm targeting overall. How much power did the FRPP tune make for comparison?

I love how easy that non-IC Whipple is to install, I'm just not sure how hot that sucker will get overall. I'm afraid it would be gimped 99% of the time due to raw temps. Any insight on that Justin?

Note that the kit from Whipple directly, and the Ford racing kit have one discrepancy, and its the tune. The Whipple supplied tune claims 415hp, the FRPP is 400hp. I don't know the difference, but I'd imagine the FRPP version is just more conservative. These are engine #s, not rear wheel. The kit will certainly heat soak pretty easily, being that its cradled on top of the block... IMHO of course.

I priced the FRPP flavor of the kit out from Tousley at $4910 shipped. The price of the Whipple flavor kit from Lethal Performance using their forum discount code is $4861 shipped. These are both for shipping to Evergreen, CO, so your costs may vary slightly. Good luck on a sale, lol. I've never seen that kit on sale in the past few years.

Justin's tune is $300, and an additional $200 if you don't already have an SCT device. You'll have to buy an IAT relocation kit too, but that should only be $35-50~. The problem I have with this kit myself, is that I can buy a Roush M90 kit for $4400 (and Justin has a tune/pulley setup for that too -- 500hp). The Roush is only moderately more difficult to install with the intercooler/hoses/degas bottle... The Whipple is capable of far more power, but from what I know about you highline (and me), neither of us will ever see it to its full potential.

Anyway, the Whipple is a really nice kit, and total cake to install the non-IC version... its also very damn expensive for the relatively modest power gains and lack of a cooling system.

Justin, if you sell the Whipple kits, please chime in with a link or something. I could not find them on your site, so I apologize if you do, and I've posted other people's prices here...

If cost is an issue, i would get a roush M90 kit, i think being intercooled is really worth it on the 3v.

If I were you highline, and I had a 2009, I'd have bought the M90 already. Its on sale for $3899. Add Justin's 500hp package to that, and you'll be stylin.
