American Muscle Car Challenge
May 17th, 2010
Auto Club Speedway, Fontana, California
B&M and Hurst, with the help of a host of friendly sponsors*, are hosting a fun-filled track day at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California on May 17, 2010, billed as the American Muscle Car Challenge. Why American muscle cars? In the last 5 years we’ve seen a revival of the glory days of big horse power American cars with a twist…These new American irons can stop on a dime, and handle the corner as well as they can go FAST. There will be 25 spots reserved in each session for 2005+ Ford Mustangs, 2008+ Dodge Challengers, and 2010+ Chevrolet Camaros. Each group will get 4 sessions of 25 minutes each for nearly 2 hours on the track to improve their driving skills. THERE WILL BE A TROPHY AWARDED FOR THE MOST IMPROVED DRIVER IN EACH CATEGORY! This event will be a high-performance driving education featuring highly qualified instructors in each passenger seat offering invaluable tips on how to drive fast, drive safe, and have the most fun in a late model American Muscle car LEGALLY. This event will be utilizing the 1.45 mile infield course of Auto Club Speedway. PM for more info.
Helmets of Snell M2000 or SA2000 or later standards are required, rental helmets will be available upon request for an additional fee, since this IS a high speed, high performance driving event. Basic tech inspection will be required.
*So far, a list of sponsors have committed to be present and help with the event includes:
Eibach
Magnaflow
Magnuson Supercharger
Galpin Auto Sport
Hurst Performance Vehicles
B&M
Hurst Shifters
…With many more to be added. This surely will be one of the more exciting events in the first half of the year and have already garnered quite a bit of buzz on the internet. When registering for 2005+ Mustangs, please be sure to add the event to cart and go through the check out process to complete registration. Please go to BMRacing's website --> Motorsports tab --> Motorsport Events category --> And select the American Muscle Car Challenge Mustang Entries to register.
Spaces are limited. If we can not fill all 25 Mustang spaces, the spots may be sold to other competing marks. Registration will close April 30th, be sure to plan accordingly.

BUMP?
C'mon guys, so far we've got 17 Camaros signed up and 11 Challengers for the event in 2 short weeks of registration, but we've got absolutely NO MUSTANG representing. I would have thought the Mustangs would be the overwhelming favorites here but it's starting to look like there'll be far more Camaros and Challengers at the event...

BF Goodrich/Michelin USA has signed on as a sponsor and has agreed to donate 3 sets of tires, one for each make. So you stand a 1/25 chance of winning a full set of tire (maybe even better if there isn't 25 Mustangs signed up). A single set of tire is potentially worth more than $1,000.
Dan. I do plan on signing up, but not until the date gets closer due to fancial reasons for this month. Could you please keep me updated on the spots. As the mustang spots start to fill i will sign up and pay.
No problem, the only ones in danger of selling out right now is the Camaros (we've only got 5 more spots open for them). I will be posting weekly updates as to numbers of sign-ups to each group between now and the end of registration.
Update:
Currently we have:
20 Camaros
11 Challengers
0 Mustangs
If you're thinking of signing up, sign up now. I've got a few Corvette guys riding my butt about why they're not included in this event. If I have to open up the event to C6 Corvettes to fill the spot, it'll likely go to the group with the least attendance...And trust me, I've gone up against C6 Corvettes. They'll DOMINATE the road-course like no-one's business.
