Different tire brands front and back
I just bought a set of 17x9 and 17x10.5 bullitts. I picked up a pair of new 315/35/17 Sumitomo HTRZ rear tires from a buddy of mine. I didn't want to spend that much on the rear because I know those will wear down really fast (my foot is a bit heavy). I don't mind spending more money on the fronts because those won't wear as easily and I want the grip to balance out the huge rear tires. I was looking at a set of 275/40/17 Nitto 555 Extreme Performance tires. My question is...
Is is a bad idea to run different brands of tires on the front than what is on the rear? I plan on getting a set of Nitto 555R Drag Radials mounted on a second set of 17x10.5 rims too for the track.
Thanks for the help!

RE: Different tire brands front and back
You should always try to run the same brand and model front and rear.
If you are going to mix, put the stickier tire in the rear. The worst that would happen would be more understreer. As you may know, understeer is much easier to control than oversteer
