Is it unsafe to have stretched tires, say 2-3 sizes down? For example, the stock 05' 17 used 17X8 with 235. Let's say if I used the same 235 on a 17X10, would it be unsafe? What's the limit on stretching tires? Thanks.

 

the 235 WONT FIT on a 17x10, it will barely fit on a 17x9. most people go 315 on a 10in wide wheel.

 

unsafe doesnt even come close to describing it... even if you could get the tire to seat... which you wont... the first time you hit a bump sideways, you will blow the tire right off the bead
