7.5" rim width vs. 8" rim width?
This question is directly related to another question I asked regarding the correct tire size to mount a 7.5" wide rim on.
The verdict was, an 18" x 7.5" rim would be most suitably mounted on a tire sized 235/50-18. The current rims on my Mustang are 17" x 8" mounted on 235/55-17's, so I was just wondering:
Given that my current and upcoming rims are both mounted on 235 tires, will the half-inch difference in the rim width affect anything in terms of how my car rides or handles or anything like that? Will 18 x 7.5's on 235/50-18's be essentially the same as 17 x 8's on 235/55-17's, or will that difference in rim width cause any issues? (And that's assuming I'm completely happy with how the 235/55-17's look and drive.)

Inanswer toyour question, it looks like the only difference would be your speedo wouldbe a little slow but not enough to be concerned about.
