Default Bigger summer smaller winter?

Hi there, newbie.

I have always wanted a convertible and liked mustangs so I bought one a used 2001 with factory 16" rims/tires.
I have been considering in the spring putting on larger tires, likely 18" to fill the gap a bit and am not sure how difficult having someone lower it a bit will be/cost.
My main question though? is I just bought winter tires and rather than buy steel rims I put switched my summers off and used the alloy rims as If I buy larger tires/rims in spring I would have no use for the old rims, so I used them.
If I went ahead and lowered car, bought larger 18" rims next spring, when winter rolls around do I just have a shop throw the winters back on, or would the lowering have any impact at all of putting the smaller tires back on?

What is the size of the smaller tires and the 18" tires? How much will you lower the car?

Hi there, hope you didn't misunderstand me. The factory 16" tires are 225 55 16 and I bought snows in exact same size and had them remove the summers and put them on those rims. I am completely new to altering and will have someone do it for me. I am going to lower it just enough to fill the gap a bit.
I am so new that I though by buying 18" rims tires like I want that they would fill the gap until it was explained to me. are you asking the specific tire size? I will buy for 18's because if that is what you are asking i have no idea at this point. Just wanted to know if the rims with winters on them can simply be switched onto the car next winter, after I have lowered car and added the 18's.

you will be able to interchange your "winter" wheels with your new ones whenever you want to. Just make sure when you order new wheels and tires you keep the overall size (wheel + tire height) the same so it dosnt throw off your spedo.
