best tire size for 94 mustang GT?
I currently have 265/45/R17 tires on my car right now and have the kumho exsta ASX tires.
I am thinking of replacing the tires for all four wheels but am interested in the goodyear eagle f1 all seasontires. The only catch is that the closest size is the 245/45/R17 tires.
The car is all stock and is probably going to stay like that for a while.
Would this reduction in size decrease, increase, or maintain my current level of traction?

Those New F1's are insane.I think even if you did reduce the tire size and strapped on some F1 rubber your traction would probably get better. I had a set of Kuhmos that I blew off in a couple of months. You will be hard pressed to find a better tire for the money than the F1....I think.

I am relatively new to selecting tires and am wonderiing if the sidewall height has anything to do with increased or decreased traction? If I go down from a 265 to 245, I want to increase the traction as much as possible. I know the f1's have much better grip than the tires I have now but if having a larger/smaller sidewall will help traction, I will adjust my selection.
