1988 mustang waht size looks good?

Default 1988 mustang waht size looks good?

i got a 19988 gt that i just bought and teh guy before put some stupid lookin rims and tires on it and they rub on the body kit
im looking to upgrade and im not sure which size i should get and what gives the best look without rubbing

Well, on that car you have some options, everything from 14 to 20 will fit as long as you choose the correct tire size. Most people think that rim diameter is what determines what will rub and what wont, but its actually the tire diameter is, since we all know the tire that goes on the rim is bigger than the rim itself. So you can put anything from 14-20s as long a you choose the correct size tires. What we seem to have the most people buy is 17s and 18s and there are quit a few to choose from in thoses sizes and lately the 20" Cobra R combo has become popular also. You are somewhat limited by the fact that you have a 4 lug car versus the newer 5 lug. But if you are interested in seeing whats available email me at davidh@bonesenterprises.com and i can send you some pictures of some of the rims that are available for your car and give you some suggestions about tire sizes as well.

im leaning towards the chrome 2003 cobra style rims andthe 17x9 size
does yours with the black rims rub in a tight corner?

actually, they do a rub a little on the control arms. only when i have the wheels turned all the way. usually when i'm in a tight parking lot. if you don't want them to rub, you could get some rack limiters.

yeah im not worried if it is a little rub butthe current rims that the guy before me put on rub on the body kit
yours dont do that right?

nope. they get kinda close, but, no, they've never rubbed on the body
