Default Question about Tread

Hello,

I have been thinking of using a staggered set-up when I finally replace my wheels/tires on my '06 GT and have been thinking of using a 255/45/18 (front) and 295/45/18 (Rear). I wanted to use either a BF Goodrich or Goodyear tire for the set up. In looking through Tire Rack.com, I see that only Goodyear makes both these tire sizes.

However, the tires are not exactly the same The 255's are Eagle F1 GS and the 295's are Eagle F1 G3-D3 and the treat are totally different on these. They are both a unidirectional tire, but I am concerned that the difference in tread design will cause driveability problems.. Will it?

NO issues in keeping them matched on the same axle. Just look funny

I agree that it would look strange, and I probably won't do it just for that reason. But I still wanted to ak the question.

Thanks!

If you are into cornering, I recommend PS2's OVER the GS-D3's. I drove them for a year and a half, and PS2's are FAR better holding tire and less "resistance" on turns. I think it is best to keep same tires all around (certainly on same axle as stoenr says), but staggered is just fine.
