front rim width question

Ok ive decided to go 15x8 in the rear {goin with weld draglights} But im not quit sure what size i should run up front. These are gonna be weekend wheels and tires package. I was gonna go with MT e/t street. I have a set of cobra for my dd wheels and tires.I know i was 15s up front of course but i wasnt sure what width anyone have any suggestions?

You can easily run 245/45/17's up front on your ride as I did so for many years on a 2' drop.

Look up the diameter of that tire at any website, and will give you an idea of how it will look compared with your existing. Seems to me itwas .5' diameter larger than the stock 225/60/15's and had zero rubbing issues.Looking back, I could have gone 9' wheels if I had spent the time to confirm clearances prior.

ok i have 17x9 now.Im gettin a set of wheel for the track and crusing. I was wondering and the skinnies up front. Will 5"wide tires be to much?

I forgot to mention in my first post, I was running those wheels on and '85 GT Stang.

Back to current reply: You want to run the little skinny tires up front like the old..... was it Pro-stock cars? Sure, if you like that look and the wheel is large enough to clear brake calipers and such.

well the rims are 15s i was talkin about width wise what is a safe width to go with on the front rims? 15x4 15x6. Sorry for the confusing question here iam very dislexic at times lol

You can run any size that willphysically fitand rated for theweight of car.

I would think that 4'~6' would fit, I have just never tried to install those sizes before. One or two have mentioned the desire to install them, but never heard back or saw any pics of results.

No worries I can dislexic be sometimes too [8D]
