Default Tire question

Im thinking about getting new wheels for my car soon, but i would like to use the same tires that i currently have on my car. It is a 1996 mustang gt with the stock optional 17" wheels. The front tires say 245/45R17 but the back tires say 275/40ZR17. So are theses 17x8 tires? And if they are would they fit any 17x8 wheels? Thanks

Default RE: Tire question

Sounds like you probably have 8's up front and 9's out back. Can you give us a pic looking down the side of the car so we can see how the sidewall and face of wheel look together? Also a pic straight on as someone may recognize them and know for sure.

Is the rear tire bulging much wider beyond the face of wheel compared with the fronts? The front tires will fit anywhere from 8'~9' wheels (generally speaking) The rears are going to fit 9'~10', again, generally speaking.

Give us some pics as I think you may have an over-sized tire on the rear and might recommend you go staggered front/rear wheels on your purchase.
