What Combo
hey, what the hell's going on here? you guys talking bout me behind my back?
i'm kinda surprised too. from my experience though, i have a feeling a 10 in wheel might fit. i know it's not gonna be easy though. it gonna take quad shocks gone, fenders rolled, and a hammer to the inner fenders at least. backspacing and offset are going have to be perfect, cuz like Jazzer said it's gonna be very tight.
in fact, just the other day for fun, i put on my 17 x 9s with 275/40s and my 1 in spacers just to see if they would fit. they looked like crap cuz they stuck out past the fender and i had my shocks on their stiffest setting, but they worked. didn't rub at all.
here's what i'd recommend for tire sizes:
front with 8 in rim: 235/45 or 245/45
front with 9 in rim:245/45 (these will probably rub a little but it's very
minor)
rear with 8 in rim: 245/45 or a 255/45 will fit (probably have to remove
quad shocks)
rear with 9 in rim: 245/45 (probably have to remove quad shocks)
255/45 (quads again and maybe roll fenders)
275/40 (quads gone, possibly roll fenders, and
slight hammer work to inner fenders)
rear with 10 in: i don't know about that one. i haven't tried to fit a 10in so i don't want to recommend something and have it not fit.
anyways, like Jazzer said, i'd call American Muscle and talk to them. i know it's possible and they know more than i do.

i was just doing some searching, and i came across this article. i didn't read it all, but they put 315/35s on 17x10s on the back of a 86 mustang.
As sick as the larger rims are on the rear, i dont want to take a hammer to the stang if i dont have to.
I think i'm going 8's all around.
Whats a nice fat tire to stick out back (without pushing the limits)

Look how close those tires are to the inner tub. No way they will not rub on articulation. Car is running full aftermarket suspension as well along with CO's out back. It surely can be done, but not without some serious work as I mentioned in earlier post.
Good to see you again, Mach
How's the ride?Jazzer
hey! the ride's doing good. i just finished up converting the stock rear brakes from drums to disks. i went to the junkyard and got everything from a '95 stang. well everything but rotors, pads, and hoses (got those new). it stops sooo much better now.
i just drove it home from my dad's shop yesterday, and last night we got our first snowfall (like 2 inches). man, talk about perfect timing.
so now, she's put away for the winter. ssshhhh...she's sleeping. we don't want to disturb her.
how about you? how's your beautiful car doing?
