the 315 r18 should fit on a saleen 10.5 rear rim right. like it will fit in my wheel well with my 03 GT

Yes, I run a 315/30/18" on an 11" wheel out back.

You are looking at a 26.4" diameter tire and would rub a bit on an aggressive drop. I only see very limited tires in that size. You may look into a 315/35/17" tire if you are looking for a smoother ride over a 30 series.

Any particular reason you want that size?

well i wanted the saleen 18's. i really like the look of the 18's over the 17's ever since i got my car ive always wanted the black saleen 18's. and i'm not planning on going FI in the neer furture and i guess i assumed id need 315's. i guess i could look into a 295 also. i really don't get out to the track much being in the military so i guess i don't really need a DR. it would see way more street then track which would wear alot and kinda be pointless.

I prefer and 18" wheel reguardless of style on a Stang.

You can still run a 315/30, but is not rated for nor will not fit well on a 10" wheel, IMO. My question was in reference to a 35 series over a 30 series tire. The 315/30 is most common in an 18" and a 315/35 is most common in a 17" tire. Running a 10" wheel, you are best to stick with no more than a 295/30/18", IMO.

As for tires, this depends on your driving needs first and your budget second.

^ They don't

An '03~'04 Cobra can run a 10.5" in a 17" wheel out back with some modifications to suspension. They can run a 10.5" in an 18" wheel, without modifications, I am told.

I actually could go 10.5" up front if I wanted, but choose to run a 10" instead. Don't try this at home as I have a complete suspension replacement that allows fitment. Take a look at my sig and will see why.
