Default sumimoto htrzII vs Nitto555

i kno this seems like an obvious answer, but for a daily drive that never sees the track. would the lower price of the sumi 2's be better then the 555's. But for a lil more money the nittos are rated at 300treadware vs sumis 220-260? Is the extra money worth the well known performance of the nittos?

also, i was allready concerned about putting a 245 on a 9'' rim, everyone says nittos run small.. exactally how much smaller do they run?

I have never run either tire, but not a big fan of the tread pattern of the Sumi.

I like the idea of a lower UTQG, but is mostly a guide for within the brand of tire itself. I DO use the number as a guide, but the numbers are close enough, that I would go NT555's myself.

PS. See Stoenr, you are rubbin' off on my

The sumis suck ***. Dont buy them. The sidewall is chicken****, traction sucks, they dryrot in like a month, and the treadwidth is not even close to advertised. I made the mistake of buying some in 315s and when I measured the contact patch, it was the same as my 275 Nitto 555s I have up front.

The 555's are horrible. I had them on my 350Z for 3 months and replaced them with Nitto Invo's. No traction at all. With 240rwhp, I could spin all day in second. Maybe look into the new Sumi HTR-ZIII's or Nitto Invo's?

I loved my HTR ZIIs when I had them on my 67. Had no problem with them at all and the price is good.
