Default Chrome chipping

Hi everyone! i am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone can help. I just purchased my new mustang and the previous owner put on after market chrome wheels. Well he never took the wheels off in the winter and now the chrome is begining to bubble and chip. My question is, if i get the chrome removed by shop can the wheels be polished after the chrome is removed? The wheels are Forged aluminum under the chrome. Any ideas is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey, Alex... welcome to you from The Jazzer as well

As for chipping, I believe it will be more expensive to repair your wheels than replace them. By the time they are shipped to/from and cost of repairs, it will usually be prohibitably expensive. I have just checked Weldcraft Wheels and don't see that they address removing chrome, but worth giving them a try. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

I have worked with James several times and is a great company!

Thanks everyone i appreciate the feedback! I did some research and it seems like it's more of a pain to fix the wheels than to just buy a new pair.
