Default Used Tires???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220681741095

Hey Guys,

I really want some winter tires and after a ton of research I really want the pirelli sottozero. I came across these used and there a lot more in my price range. What do you think of the condition? & what do you think in general?

They are at least 1/2 worn, based on remaining tread-depth of 5/32" and another $120 for shipping.

Beyond this is the possibility of repaired flats or hard contact with a curb and no warranty. I would not consider these tires unless you were in the area and could check them out in person to also save shipping cost.

ya... Sucks cuz its pretty much half the price. I could order just two for the front and order two new ones for the rear. What you guys think of that?

1/2 the price and half worn as well!

Not sure what you mean by "order two for front and two new ones for rear"? Are you considering buying two of the tires in the link and then getting a set of new ones for the rear?

yes, good or bad idea? I could wait to see what else comes across. Theres also brand new set for $475 bucks, but there kinda wide (285/40/18).

Bad!

There is no benefit to purchasing these tires as 1/2 worn for 1/2 price is no value at all Besides, you are back to the issues in which I mentioned in my first post on the subject.

The 285/40/18" tires are gonna be much too wide for your OEM wheels, so you need to pass on them.

conejo.... what are you talking about?

I think conejo means spend the money or go home. I'll keep an eye out on ebay since there are new tires on there.

Great

Just be sure to consider the shipping of tires and the cost to have them mounted/balanced on your wheels. This will often times negate the savings on the tires alone, but certainly not always!
