ok my buddy has a 84 stang, he said that he is gunna put air bags in the back and roll the back fender and move the exhaust to the side just so he can run 290 size tires in the back. i told him it wont work. so who is right?

 

I have never heard of a 290 tire, but a 285 will run with some fender rolling and maybe a bit of hammer work to the inside of fender. 'Tis a tight fit, but can be done.

with enough $$$ and time you can make anything work ... the question is it worth the effort and $$$

With some skill, the fenders can be rolled, as well as hammer some room underneath. This won't cost any $$$, so the question becomes a matter of time and commitment alone
