2007 Mustang - Will 225-55-16 fit?!
Hey guys,
I just bought a 2007 mustang v6 stock. I need new tires as they are the originals and the sidewalls are cracking, tread is good but Im pretty sure its time for new ones. I am looking at Falken ZEIX 502's they are 225 55 16. I need to know if they will fit the 2007 stock 16" rim. Thanks!

2007... Changing tire diameters will effect a few things. A couple can be easily corrected, while others "are what they are" as they* say. You will effect the ride height, the clearance around the fenders, the speedometer/ODO accuracy and to a small degree, your mileage.
215/65/16" tire = 27" diameter (< your current tires)
225/55/16" tire = 25.7" diameter
This is a pretty big change in diameters, but will indeed fit your existing wheels. Your looking at an additional 3/4" drop in ride height, an equal amount of additional gap around the tire and fender, some reduced mileage (but cannot give you any numbers as to how much) and a speedometer that will be very noticeably inaccurate. The ODO will be off over time as well, so these last two items can be addressed pretty easily via hand-held tuner. Your Ford dealer can do it and possibly the place who installs the tires.
I like to see OEM diameter tires installed pretty much 100% of the time and is the case here. Find some tires that are either the same numbers as yours, or at least equal the same diameter to avoid ALL of the above issues.
Jazzer would like to know who THEY* are
