Wonder what happened after 2010, cause Hypertech, Ford Racing, and others made various speedometer recalibration tools, but none are listed to work after 2010 model year.
To bad the OP can't just find some 18" wheels he likes so he could get his more cushy sidewall height, without the hassle of trying to fix the speedo.

hey does anyone know if there is a significant speedometer difference going from a 235/55r17 to 245/45/r19? I have a 2005 gt. I have a set of the 2010 mustang oem upgrade package 19s on my car now

Well the short answer in 235/55/17 =27.177"
while the 245/45/19 =27.68" just over 1/2" taller
would be better to go with a 255/40/19 = 27.03 so about an 1/8" shorter
That is all.

If you do get a tire with a different height then yes, a simple adjustment via a handheld tuner is what is needed.

Here's SCT's instructions for example: http://www.sctflash.com/PDF/64Options.pdf

Your dealer is probably strictly by the book so they won't even mention an aftermarket device like the SCT tuner to access the ECM for the adjustment.
Thanks for the help! Appreciated!
