Default tire sizing for an 07 gt with 19s

I am looking at getting new rims and tires. I have the back rims without tires. There 19x10 and fronts will be 19x8.5., need a little help on sizing these bigger tires. Right now I have 18s. With 285s in the back and 255 upfront. Car is stock ride height. What me and my brother are looking at is 275 for the back and 245 for the front. Running Nitto nt555 g2's. I was going to put 285s in the back again, but the 285 Nittos are shorter than the 275s height wise apparently. Also not sure the maximum size that can fit up front. Any help would be great. Thank you.

For 45 and under profile tires, 255 is as wide as you should ever go on 8.5" wide wheels. But a 255 tire would work a little better on 9".

In NT555 G2, the 245/275 combination is quite a bit taller (27.7") than any of the '07 S197 OE tires (which are all right around 27"). A 255/40-19 with 285/35-19 combination would be a much closer diameter match (about 27" & 26.9", and I'd defy you to see any difference).

Will 255 work up front without rubbing or sticking out with the bigger rims?

Shouldn't be any problem - depending on the offset. Plus you'll gain about 1/8" more clearance on the strut side compared to my 18's because the strut slopes inward as it goes up.

For the street I'm running 265/40-18's on 18x9.5"x +45 offset wheels. Before that I was running 255/45-18's (same wheel and tire size as our years of the GT500). No rub or sticking out past the sheetmetal with either tires.

And out back, although it's close even my track day set of 285/35-18's on 18x11's don't stick out past the flare (looking straight down). I did remove the rear shipping tie-down points above the bump stop pads, though. The front wheels/tires in this picture are the same as the rears but with a different offset that just barely clears the struts and these do stick out a bit (although the tire tread is fully under the flare looking down here, too).

So, ill go ahead and get 255s in front with 285s in back. Same setup as what my 18s have now.

Thank you
