How Smart Can You Make Your Mustang?

Smart phones are everywhere, and with the recent introduction of Apple Car Play and Android Auto, integrating cars and phones is becoming a very common theme. VOYO, a startup company based in California, thinks they have just the right amount of savvy to combine your car and phone into something far more useful.

Using the OBD plug in your vehicle, along with resistors in your fuse box, installation takes just a matter of moments. Perhaps we aren’t really interested in the fuel economy features of VOYO, but there’s some really neat stuff that may be useful for your Mustang, or even more so, for your other household vehicles.

With features such as a time sensitive immobilizer, and GPS tracking, VOYO could prove to be quite useful if you have new drivers in the family that might not be fully trusted with a set of wheels. What is definitely useful, though, and something that your friends will nag you for, is the ability to read check engine codes. While there’s other OBD readers that can do that, none of them integrate with apps on your phone quite the way VOYO does.

You can read all about the fascinating tech at VOYO’s well-funded Kickstarter page.
