Underwear, Yes Underwear Blamed for Burning Mustang

Here’s something you wouldn’t typically expect to find at the root of a Mustang fire. But hey, these days, I guess anything is possible.

Although, I imagine that fire authorities still thought it was a little bizarre when they realized that a car was set afire by a pair of burning underwear. I know it would’ve been hard for me to contain my laughter after securing the scene.

Apparently, the entire ordeal started after a mechanic in Wisconsin parked the Mustang, which was being repaired, on a street. He returned later to see smoke billowing from the car, according to a Channel 3000 report.

When firefighters arrived, they saw no visible flames coming from the Mustang’s engine or trunk compartment. But when they opened up the Mustang’s door, they saw a burning pair of underwear on the passenger’s seat, which caused the fire.

As far as what first set the underwear on fire? Well, that remains a mystery. Any guesses?
