Recalibrating Speedometer for 4.10's?
I hope to get my gears and put them in sometime in the next few months. I don't want to buy a predator, or some such, only for the purpose of changing the speedometer. That will cost more than the gears and installation kit altogether.
Are there any shops that have a predator and can do this for me, or is there anyone in the DFW area who owns a Predator and would like to make a few quick bucks?
Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated.
Have a great day,

Yeah, you can't use someone else's tuner. They lock themselves to a particular VIN. You can't use them on another car until you set the original car back to "stock configuration".
I am not sure, but I belive that Ford dealers have a similar tool they can use to reset your speedo. You can probably get your dealer to do it for you. Perhaps they will charge you for a half-hour or something, but I'd imagine it would be reasonable.

The only way you can recalibrate the speedo is with a Predator or an Xcal2. There's plenty of valid reasons to own one. These drvices are worth every penny in my opinion. They allow you to fine tune your engine for whatever modfications you make. You're going to need it sooner or later it you plane to make any changes such as a cold air intake, headers, run premium fuel or a million other changes you might want to make.
You really should consider getting one.

If you don't want to get a tuner you can get this done no problem. The dealer can change the setting or any place that does tuning can change the factory tune it's not a problem. With the 4.10's your speedo wont be off much just a couple of MPH.............
