I am a "detail" nut... my ride has to be P-E-R-F-E-C-T...
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate a clean bike as much as the next person. But I certainly didn't buy it to wash it. I average between 12000 and 15000 a year on my FL. Live in Texas, belong to a club out of Kansas, have a chapter in Denver. It doesn't sit still long enough to get detailed!

Hey there hawgman....

Not a problem.. To each his own.

My senior programmer bough a brand new Subaru 2 years ago... He JUST drives it... it has never been washed once, never had anything wiped off inside. It just doesn’t bother him.

Now Me… It bothers!... I love the look of my bike when it is all shined up and makes me feel GREAT inside when I am sitting on it. I don't have the opportunity to ride as much as you being in St. Louis, I only do around 5k to 7k miles a year.. So I do have the time to "keep it up". Every time I take it out, I take 5 minutes and wipe everything down with a clean soft old Tshirt (Those Conventions Give Always are GREAT!).

For the matter... This Morning, before jumping into my BMW Convertible to drive to work.. I ran my Dust Magnet over it. It is just how I am. I have people ask me all the time if it is an 05 when it is actually an 02.

Go ahead… Call me ****.... Oh... wait... can I say that in here... HA HA HA

for a black car, it's way better to use a leaf blower when driving rather than microfiber towels, chamois, etc.

the effect of swirls/scratches can be minimized by washing using back and forth motions parallel to the length of the car rather than using circular motions (fine scratches are still there, but can only be seen from a distinct angle rather than from any angle)

use at least two clean, new sponges when washing, one for top/hood/trunk, other for sides.

Here in St. Louis... we have a strip club called PT's that has fund raising Car washes...

Do you think letting girls wash my car rubbing their soapy ***** all over it will mar the paint?

he he.. sorry... just HAD to ask!
