are you asking why the car still feels tuned? it is because the computer still has the timing in the computer from your tunes. i remember letting a buddy of mine drive my 07 gt when i pulled the c&l racer off and returned to stock. he turned out of the dealer ship where i worked and jumped on and spun 1st and 2nd gear and scared the sh*& out of himself when it got sideways.

The C&L Street intake with the special insert does not require a tune. If it has no insert, then a custom tune has to be installed.

The ECU does not use any parameters from a custom tune after the stock tune has been reinstalled.

so what explains why the car still acts the same after the intake and tunes are returned to stock? when i switched from the 93 tune to the 87 tune. the 87 tune felt just like the 93 tune for a few days until the computer relearned the new parameters. even after i took at all off the car still acted like it was tuned. might have just been me but now having my 08 and still not having it tuned yet i can def tell a diff but on my 07 after i returned to stock the car still acted like it was tuned
