Default HELP! camshaft sensor

I went to drive my car today and the car seemed to be misfiring so here comes the dreaded engine light. So i plugged in my sct tuner and the code was P0340 which is a camshaft sensor malfunction. I dont really know to much about newer cars any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

Replace the camshaft sensor?
Run thru the diagnostics for P0340 which is a common thrown code.
Or run thru the DR pinpoint tests...
Some reference P0340 to low battery voltage and a bad alternator.
Check for 13.8Volts while the engine is running.
