The hood is all ready aluminum.

Remove the passenger air bag. It's heavy! You could easily make a panel to cover the hole.

You can actually remove the airbag cover and put it back over the hole with a small bracket. The airbags are heavy.

The stock K subframe is not that heavy. I was just moving one yesterday. I'm sure the tubular one is lighter, but not by much.

BTW, hood pins don't weigh much at all (1 lb perhaps), and I use them on my aluminum hood.

+1 on the light weight wheels.

The 17 inch wheels are reasonable light from the factory, around 21 lbs each. The 18 inch factory wheels are really heavy, though and the cheap Chinese wheels are probably worse. I think the Ford 18's weigh 9 or 10 lbs more per wheel than my 19 lbs OZ wheels with 18 inch fan blades being the heaviest.

Switching from stock mufflers to a pass through types like Borla Stingers reduces weight by 16 lbs I believe. I think the spare weighs 22 lbs, you can replace that with a 5 lbs compressor. If you're looking for support for the bottom of your trunk, then go to the craft store and buy some of the hard foam blocks use for flower arrangements.

My stock hood for some reason is fiberglass. It has the stock hood scoop as well.

Yeah my next weight savings is lightweight wheels. Advan RZ 19x10 19 lbs only. Tires will be lighter too. Trying to reduce as much rotational mass as possible cuz thats the best perf/weight ratio.

That's a good point to consider- any unsprung weight is multiplied as it moves. I remember reading an article that said that losing 25lbs off any unsprung components (wheels, brakes, some suspension) is equivalent to taking 100lbs off the chassis.
