Hiding engine bay wires
#2
Yep, its been done.
The PCM and BEC were moved into the passenger compartment.
The battery was relocated to the trunk area.
This really cleaned up the appearance of the engine bay.
It requires another whole firewall forward S197 harness and a lot
of knowledge of the S197s electronics and lots of wiring skills.
It can be done like just about everything else.
The question is, do you feel up to it.
Just by you asking kinda makes me feel the answer is no...
Every wire is color coded AND if you can lengthen one wire at a
time without cutting a hundred in one whack AND a total game
plan BEFORE any wire is cut and a week or so to not have
use of the stang, then its simple pimple popping from there out.
You are not rewiring or reinventing the wheel, just making the
wires longer.
Be ready to buy a lot of wire of the proper guage for the extenders.

I plan on doing it this winter, as I do not drive the car at all. I don't want to completely hide all of the wires, just clean them up. The reason I ask, is I do not see it done often so I am not sure if I am getting in over my head, or setting myself up for a future of electrical and computer problems

adhesive lined heatshrink like OEM. The CANN BUSS is the only twisted
pair thats sensitive to routing. The major need for the OEM harness
is for the OEM CANN BUSS wiring. I dont see your final desired product.
What wires are unsightly and need hiding enough to lengthen them?
Maybe some pics of these wires then the recommendations should
come flowing forth.

Hmmm...hiding wires is nice but it makes it potentially harder to find and fix any electrical problems in the future. Seems more trouble than it's worth. I like my wiring all bunched up like a rat's nest and in plain view so I can have easy access to them. lol

Boozshey did this on his car before he blew the motor the first time...search for him and he has a pretty detailed thread with pictures.
I wouldn't do this though. Major hassle for little gain IMO. and then the engine bay looks kinda like it's missing something
