New Boss 302 show on Speed Channel

I am not saying Boss parts will never be sold to the public, they will in the future, but it will be when the S197 is no longer he current car, when an S198 or whatever they will call it replaces the S197.

i watched - wasn't real impressed with the production. very much like an hour long infomercial and was light on the technology. it kept re-telling the parnelli jones story and even had a portion devoted to carroll shelby - didn't realize he was associated with the boss 302. all in all, i was looking for more tech and less fluff. but, i didn't really need a commercial disguised as a tv show to tell me i really want one of these.

I thought it was kind of ironic having Carroll Shelby in this commercial/ show. They kept having to note that this was the fastest FORD Mustang, not the fastest Mustang, which I believe Shelby now has in the new GT350 (taking race track not drag strip).
Also there was no real world driving review of the car, which is pretty silly. Butthen as of last Thursday (11-18) the Ford guys still weren't releasing any official performance times.
The base Boss 302 is such a normal looking Mustang (other than the stripes and painted roof) that most will never be used to set lap times at Laguna Seca.
Of course the LS model might! But it would still be interesting to see if it was comfortable to drive. Isn't the M3 a pretty nice road car? Or is strictly track, where you feel every bump in the road?

Not quite, but I grew up in the sixties. My first job in high school was a night and Saturday morning service cashier at Ed Martin Ford in Indy (now Honda) and usually when I was working the mechanics were pouring over a '64 Fairlane Thunderbolt and Curtis Turner's '63 Galaxie NASCAR stock car. To hear those cars just idling sent chills up my spne and turned me into the Mustang and Ford freak I am now. I wish I could go back to those days and remember them fondly.

I seriously doubt that will happen, at least for a very very long time. Ford has already said they will withhold Boss parts for sale and only sell a Boss part to repair a Boss car. This is to preserve the rarity and exclusiveness of the Bosses.
