HP Gauge Reading

HP Gauge Reading
So, I did the Gear Calibration and Power Run for my Magden M1.b Performance Computer.
After everything was said and done, I think the Magden said I had 196 HP at 5500 RPM. How off is that? I don't know if it is calculating RWHP or what, but if it's not, then it's definitely way low. If it's RWHP, then I could see that being moderately accurate, but still on the low side.
Any opinions? I attempted the power runs twice, and I got better numbers the second time. I wonder if I keep trying if I'll get better at the runs and get more accurate numbers.
Still a cool feature.

Even though it connects to your OBD2 port (if I'm correct) I don't see how it can give u accurate WHP estimate. It takes readings off your ECU, not your rear tires. I know they are far from being similar, but back in the days I borrowed a G-tech performance meter and after calibrating it went to see what it's all about. Turns out my runs an 11.5 second 1/4 miles with 3.8 0-60 MPH and has 748 hp. On my 2nd run I got times and HP of a really weak sixer probably running on 5 cylinders. All I'm saying is if HP could be so easily and accurately estimated shops would stop using dynos and most people concerned about that would stop using shops lol

I know. I'm not saying it's going to be accurate, but it's worth a try. It takes the information from OBD-II, but the Dynamic HP gauge is computed by the unit. It takes a good bit of gear calibration and power runs to get it working.
