Default Innovate Motorsports MTX-L Wideband A/F

So I am thinking about getting an A/F gauge, and considering the Innovate Motorsports MTX-L. I'm considering this one because it's all-digital, and can take the place of one of my stock O2 sensors (read, no need for a new bung). They also advertise it as having the quickest reaction time. It also has a serial in/out, so I could theoretically use it to help with a dyno tune.

My questions are:

1. Has anyone used this particular gauge?
2. Is this a reputable gauge?
3. Would I run into any issues with only running the one gauge?

Thanks guys

I have the Innovate LM-1 wb a/f gauge.
its an older model than the one you are considering.
Innovate is one of the best WB you can get. i would highly recommend them.

Well that just about sold it for me! Does your LM-1 have the same "narrowband" simulation mode so you can hook it up to the stock computer system? And if so are you using that?

+1, Innovate is great!

I don't think I'm familiar with the narrowband feature.

From this page: "It is possible to install the wide-band sensor in place of the OEM oxygen sensor. In this case the meter's analog output signal will replace the OEM oxygen sensor's signal to the fuel injection computer. EFI equipped cars typically incorporate a narrow band oxygen sensor. These sensors are typically 1, 2, 3 or 4 wire sensors. "

Note: I read this same thing in the MTX-L manual (I love manufacturers that have downloadable PDF manuals!)

from your post, it uses a WB sensor in the OEM sensor location, so it is still a WB.
just no need to have a separate bung welded.
i would suggest you do a WB and not narrow band bc it is more accurate for FI purposes.
the hardest part about the install is routing the wires.
heres a nice write up about gauge installs.

Sorry if I was confusing, that was my intention completely. I am thinking I want to install the wideband in one of the stock narrowband locations, wire that to the gauge, and then output a "simulated" narrowband signal to the OEM computer for stock fuel injection purposes. So exactly what you're saying for the most part.

I'm still wondering if it would ever be a problem to be only monitoring one side of the engine though.

So nobody has an opinion on whether or not having a wideband monitoring only one "side" of the engine is good or bad?

Maybe I should start a new thread for that question...
