drag racing the automatic questions

MAYO Oh yea it was the best thing I did next to the supercharger install. Not only does it allow you to get off the line much quicker but it keeps you in the power band. Much more torque feel to the car. Pulls like nobody's business. I mean when I got the car back from the install I had to relearn how to drive the car. Most say that when u do 410's and a twin screw and i didnt think that was bad at all but the torque convertor made the cars true power come alive. Its really had to explain. But I gave my friends a ride in my car after the supercharger install and they thought the car was cool but I didnt get that WOW factor from them. When I gave them a ride in my car after the TQ install I got the WOW reaction. They were in disbelief. U will absolutely love it. I would go as far as to say it was the most noticeable mod I have ever done.

Crappy stock shifter
The stock tranny shifter is really a piece of crap, 2012 model. It would skip shift if you use it, guaranteed! No decent modern car has this kind of ancient shifter. It's heritage goes back to the '60! My daily driver, 2004 G35X, has a more modern shifter, which has a separate gate so you can shift up or down with just a touch, will not miss shift, and that's 7 year-old car, mind you.
I wish Ford will upgrade many areas in the coming years.

The first thing you need to get is an SCT XCal3 and a good tune from reputable tuner. You won't believe the difference in your car with a good tune. As far as a converter goes, it is one of the best things you can do for your car, after a good tune. If you are planning to go FI in the future then either get the converter from Precision Industries or Circle D and get the multi-disk version. The trans has to be removed to replace the converter, I would replace the servos with these from TCI #576005 and #576006 servo's. I would also get the TCI hardened input shaft# 579600. This is about the best bang for the buck you can do to help the trans survive higher HP numbers.

If you do a TC, might as well do a one piece drive-shaft since it's coming off anyways.
A light weight one piece can easily be installed, rather than having the stock two piece re-installed. Best combo right there. I'd say gears (3.73s or 4.10s if you're daring enough lol) if you have the extra cash... Exhaust is coming off from the headers, so a high flow H or X pipe would also be good.

I would have already done a new TC with a decent stall except in my case I will have to cut through all my exhaust as its all been welded together. Not to mention dropping the trans without a lift is gonna be an interesting process. Certainly possible but not a lot of fun. My stocker is holding up fine too.

Somethings never change, right? At least you got a nice looking POS shifter...better write to tci and pray for a miracle (mine got answered).
Thanks for the info on the converter guys...and stealth quit giving me more ideas to spend money, i'm already broke enough.lol
The driveshaft swap is a good idea though
