Any LONG term Royal Purple users?
I've read a LOT of threads on tranny oil.. Here's about what I've gathered so far.. (repost from another section)
Ford Manual says Mercon ATF, not Mercon V
People have called Tremec. Tremec says Mercon (not sure ATF or V) or Mobil 1 ATF. Says NO to Royal Purple, but mainly I gather it's due to lack of testing.
Posts on Mobil 1 ATF go from basically "don't notice a difference" to one individual that said it sucked.
Posts on Royal Purple were all generally positive. One individual stated they had 100k on it. Results were "about the same" to "awesome".
Orileys' computer at the store says Royal Purple ATF. Royal Purple's website says Sycromax.
The guys here that seam very race oriented all say Redline D4 ATF.
Several people are huge Amoil fans.
Ok. I'm confused. WTF?
I'm leaning towards Royal Purple Sycromax. Any other long term users?

I run RP and the Mustang only performance shop I take my car to sells nothing but Redline. Check out bobistheoilguy, they have discussions about oils and post results of actual lab tests on used oils. Here ya go. Knowledge is power. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...s.php?ubb=cfrm

I'm currently running Redline D4 ATF. Feels great after it's warmed up, a bit stiff when cold (same with any car). With Mobil 1 I used to get an awful scraping feeling every few 1-2 shifts even when warm, couldn't stand it to the point I would cringe every time I went to shift. I thought my trans was a p.o.s.
Not that Mobil 1 is bad, but they say different strokes for different folks; same goes for cars. What's great in one car might not be the same for the other.
Also, a cheaper alternative that felt great was Pennzoil Synchromesh.
Have heard nothing but good things about RP in our transmissions as well.
